How do I start my first quit?
Open Vow and follow the onboarding. You choose what you are quitting, answer questions about how much and how often, what it costs, your triggers and your toughest times, and write your reason for quitting.
At the end, Vow shows the plan it built for each habit. Your quit date can be today, or the day you actually stopped if you already have.
Why does the onboarding ask so many questions?
Your answers are what the plan is made of: the milestones, the strategy for each trigger you name, the hours your reminders avoid or target, and the savings Vow counts. The more accurate they are, the more useful the plan becomes.
They stay on your device. Nothing you type in onboarding is sent to Vow's servers.
Do I need an account?
No. Vow creates a private, anonymous identity the first time you open it. Signing in with Apple or Google is optional and ties your subscription to an account you control.
Signing in does not upload your quit data. Your habits, reasons, photos and notes stay on this iPhone.
Can I change the language, currency or look of the app?
Yes. Everything below is in Profile → Settings, and changes apply immediately.
- Language — any of the 17 languages Vow supports, independent of your iPhone's language.
- Currency — the currency your savings are shown in.
- Appearance — System, Light or Dark.
- Accent — Silver, Copper, Gold, Sapphire or Emerald.
- Haptics and sound — turn vibration feedback and the Craving Shield's ambient sound on or off.
